What do you think of the hire?

As a Vol fan? I'm happyish...would rather have a bigger name, but glad they didn't go the Howland route.

Tyndall has had NCAA Tourney success and he's a big personality, which is important in Knoxville.

Tyndall is a good dude. I hope he does well.

Good coach, good guy. One of those coaches who will run over to celebrate with the student section after a big win.

Writers will love him because he's very cooperative and open with the media (if a guy sits the first half because he showed up late for practice, he'll tell you in the post-game).

Early rumor down here is that Southern Miss might bring Rick Stansbury out of mothballs.

Tyndall should do well if the fan base gives him a shot. He's won at lower levels, and only about half the SEC even tries to win in basketball, so the deck is stacked in his favor.

It's a typical Vols hire, and that's not necessarily a bad thing... That's the system they used on their last three hires and the last two have gotten them to the NCAA Tournament.

    Does Mizzou take Kim Anderson?

There are so many Bo Ryan/Wisconsin similarities if they do. Longtime assistant at the "big school" who dropped a level out of Division I and found great success. If nothing else, I don't see Anderson bolting for Arkansas or Tulsa after a few years.

Otherwise, who is left? Ben Howland? Stan Heath? :)

I think Howland has to go to a mid-major for a couple years before another big school will give him a shot.

If Stan Heath can get another Division I job, he should consider himself lucky.

Tim Floyd in the running at Missouri, per Jeff Goodman on Twitter.

I think it's a tease so people will be excited when they pass on Floyd for Ben Howland. :D
