There was talk that Alden was going to meet with Gregg Marshall last night in Kansas City.

I can only assume that's because Marshall wanted a free meal at Plaza III.

But I can dream.

 

Mizzou fans would really be more excited about Kim Anderson than Floyd? I think he'd do pretty well there.

 

His agent made some curious comments about Mizzou.

Someone also described the power he has at Wichita as being "similar to what Saban has at Alabama" which is ridicuous when he's making $2 million a year.

If Marshall doesn't want to leave Wichita, fine, but money should not be an issue, not when they offered crazy money for Painter three years ago.

I read this as Anderson is probably the guy. I can deal with Marshall not taking it, but not taking a shot at him is ridiculous. Sometimes I think ADs are scared to be turned down and it makes you wonder if they're gunshy after what Painter did to them last time.

 

It's not too late to apply for the Mizzou job. Seems like you have to work some nights and weekends though.

Gregg Marshall would be a great hire for Mizzou and a big loss for Wichita. The man can coach.

 

FWIW, and it could be worth nothing, but Jay Wright's Wikipedia page says he left Villanova for Missouri. That has been a message board rumor but little else and could be entirely related to a private plane that flew from Philadelphia to Columbia on Friday.

 

It seems to have been removed from Wikipedia.
