Wasn't that only one time though, during LeBron's free agency? I don't have time to look it up right this second, but I thought after that year, the Bulls made some other moves that pushed them over the cap anyway, and out of the running for a max free agent. I also think their owner is one of the guys who refuses to pay the luxury tax whenever he can, and most people thought Deng was shipped out as much for money reasons as the future considerations issue.

In five years which team will still be winning titles with him?

    Cleveland?

That seems like the best choice for him.

It's probably not how you want to ultimately make the decision if you are the Cavs, but Wiggins would be a good match with LeBron. It's clearly not an exact comparison, but Wiggins could fit the Pippen role in that situation nicely. Great defender, good rebounder, runs the floor and wouldn't be upset if he was the second or third option offensively, actually he might thrive playing alongside LeBron and Irving.

Orlando is offering the No. 4, No. 12 and Afflalo for the No. 1.

If Cleveland would be assured of getting Exum at No. 4, I would say they should do it. But some rumors have Embiid falling to Boston or Sacramento and if that happens, one would assume Philly takes Exum at No. 3.

Even then, it's a pretty good offer.

It's a good offer but where does Exum play? Hasn't he been portrayed as PG?

I think he can play either guard spot, but is probably more of a true point.

Yeah, the Cavs really have no use for Exum. (And really don't have a big need for Afflalo).

The Globe yesterday published a list of every number 6 and 17 pick in NBA history (those are the Celts' picks, for now). Number 17 has produced two Hall of Famers, except they're not in as players, since they're Don Nelson and Phil Jackson. So this pick is a must for any franchise seeking to nail down its coach for the 2033-34 season.
