Patience has a way of going away during rebuilds.

I remember the Bucks giving Dunleavy an eight-year deal back in May of 1992 because they realized they had gone from 48 wins in 1991 to the bottom falling out a year later. They made some nice moves, drafted Vin Baker and Glenn Robinson in 93 and 94. But they were still far from being a playoff team, much less anywhere near a contender. He won Coach of the Year in 1999 -- seven years after signing that eight-year contract. Of course, he was already with Portland by then, replaced as coach after four years and fired from the GM position a year later. Patience has its limits. But I found it funny that he was Coach of the Yearwithin the time-frame of the contract he signed with a team that had decided he couldn't coach.

This Kidd to Milwaukee story is pretty insane.

He's right to feel underpaid after the deals that Kerr and Fisher got, but he's only had one year and completely overplayed his hand with the Nets.

I think Kidd did a pretty good job during the second half of the season and in the playoffs, but trying to get say over personnel after one season is insane. He would have been better off just asking for a raise.

Kidd to the Bucks for two second-round picks.

Good piece of business by the Nets. They unload a guy they thought they were done with, figure out a way to not eat his salary in the process and get a couple of picks for their troubles.

Also, Larry Drew is really getting treated like a piece of garbage here. The new Bucks ownership is not looking ready for prime time here. Agents should take note.

Showing the complete inexperience of the Bucks' new ownership. They're not used to national coverage and having beat reporters in the hedge fund business.

That being said, I'm figuring the thing agents will focus on is that they're two ultra-rich guys looking to throw around a lot of money.

This almost certainly takes the Bucks out of the LeBron sweepstakes.

I don't know. Kidd is probably seen as an upgrade over Drew and it's hard to feel sorry for a coach who gets fired after having the worst record in the NBA last season.

But they're taking a big chance on someone who is still pretty unproven. Then again, so are a couple other teams.

I don't know any coach or GM who should expect to keep their job when a new owner comes in unless they have a ring.

Jason Kidd is going to be the next Otis Smith of terrible basketball executives. RIP Bucks, things were so promising with Parker, but now the franchise is doomed.

I say it takes 5 years for Kidd to be fired. The first three years of failure with be excused due to player development. The final two years Kidd will have the Bucks on the cusp of the luxury cap while being somewhere between the 7th and 10th seed out East.

His firing will coincide with the team being sold again.

Well, it's not like he's replacing Popovich.

I don't know if this is a good move or not, but I don't understand the thinking that things were so promising after the draft, but now somehow things are worse.

He's coming in just as coach, not team president.
