I think Durant could take Jordan right now. Of course, Jordan is 51.

    This season...

    Durant had better numbers

Was on a better, more competitive team*

and based on statistical analysis was a comparable defender, comparable passer, better rebounder and better scorer

He was better than LeBron James this season. And it's not just me who thinks that.

    * -- I do think the way a team performs in basketball is more of a reflection of an individual player than other sports. It's a 5-man game, not a 22-man game like football or a 15/16-man game (8 everyday starters and a DH in the AL, 5-man pitching rotation, setup man and closer) like baseball.

One guy in basketball has a bigger impact on team culture than in the other major sports.

Jordan, because he never wore dumb-ass frames without lenses like a teenage girl.

Apparently you haven't been reading this thread because I posted that Durant had the better season. I have no issue with him getting the MVP.

It's the Westbrook comments that are making you look idiotic in that particular post. Plenty of other examples in other posts.

Also, while Durant had the better season, LeBron is still the best player in the world. Those who are capable of nuanced thinking understand how that can be possible.

And that's pretty much it: Durant had the better season. Season of a lifetime.

But LeBron is still No. 1. And if he's smart he will go up to Pat Riley and tell him that there's going to be a whole new way of thinking on offense next season if Heat fans want to see him wearing No. 6.

Dumars ruined that team's chances for any further success when he traded Billups for Iverson.

Why would there need to be a whole new way of thinking on offense? Offensively, they were still one of the best and most efficient teams all season. It was on defense where they slipped quite a bit, mostly because they got old and couldn't trap and be as active as they were in previous seasons. Spo is a very good offensive coach. He put together a quality system that they ran very well.

Because I think LeBron feels stifled and wants to score more. Not to be selfish but because he knows he can and probably should. Nobody can stop him down low or when he penetrates.

Yup. The Cavs made a Finals in 2007 and were willing to make moves they thought would get them to the top, including bringing in Antawn Jamison and Shaq. LeBron still screwed them over as though they weren't trying to get him help.

If I were LeBron I'd want to shoulder less of a load next season. He's played roughly 20 gazillion minutes over the past 4 years. He's built like a tank but even tanks wear down eventually.

Totally agree (so you may want to change your opinion ;D ). Believing that Jordan was the better of the two in now way means someone is saying LeBron sucks.

    This times infinity.
Jordan also didn't need to have CHOSEN1 tattooed across his back like some inmate doing 25 to life
