I'll go the opposite direction and say Bridgewater is the first QB taken.

If I was going to take a QB, he'd be the one I'd take.

Mayock now has Manziel as his No. 1 QB, followed by Bortles and Bridgewater. He had Bridgewater No. 1 before the pro days.

    Same here.
And, I think that if anyone is putting too much stock in the pro days, which I don't know that they actually do anyway, they're going to go back to the film, remember that the list of what Teddy B does that Maziel and Bortles can't do is a mile long, and they'll adjust their boards again.

Bortles is the guy with the size that NFL teams drool over. Manziel is a guy who I think some team will want as the face of their franchise. It seems crazy to say that after what happened a year ago, but I think there will be someone in Houston or Cleveland or Jacksonville that will fall in love with the idea of what Manziel could be. He has a lot of obvious marks against him that in most years would cause a guy to drop. I don't think it's going to happen this year.

I think Bridgewater is the most pro-ready of the three. I'd rather base a pick on what a guy did in games than what he did or didn't do on Pro Day, but I think, at this point, Bridgewater will be the last to be taken of the three. I've seen mocks where David Carr is taken before him. Granted, that's far from the consensus, but still interesting to see...

John McClain tweeted that the Texans won't trade back as far as No. 9 and that's where the Bills are picking. The most logical trade would be with the Falcons. They move up to take Clowney and then the Texans still have a pretty good chance at still getting a shot at one or two of the quarterbacks.

Most of the mocks seem to indicate that Bortles would fit best in O'Brien's system and the majority of them having the Texans taking him at No. 1. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they traded back if he was still there at No. 6.

It's just interesting how widely opinions vary from one staff to another.

I just don't know if those mocks are true. I don't know that they're not, either. It's not like I've got inside information. I just can't imagine that O'Brien going "You know what my system needs? A less athletic Jake Locker!"

He fell in love with Blaine Gabbert after his pro day and said he was the best QB prospect in his draft.

I see seven teams who need a new QB either this year or in a year or two or have a QB that has not been given enough of a chance.

Dallas, Denver and Arizona should be thrilled if one these guys fall to them.

It would be interesting if Dallas would take a QB at No. 16 if someone other than Manziel fell. Obviously, if Manziel falls (he won't), Jerruh will be running around and celebrating like his team has won a significant game in the last decade plus. :D

Is there a time where you draft a player's replacement? What is the age where you look to move on from your current franchise QB? 35? 37? Cap hit math?

Using a relatively high pick on a QB before they needed one seemed to work well for the Packers and 49ers. Roethlisberger wasn't supposed to start as a rookie either.

I have no idea what the Broncos think of Brock Osweiler or what the Pats think of Ryan Mallett. Brees is getting up there as well, but those three haven't really shown signs that they can't play at a high level anymore. I think most people will be surprised if Manning plays more than two more seasons. I have no idea if Brady and Brees are thinking about retiring anytime soon.
