2014 NFL draft thread (no longer too early)

The Packers won the division on 2004. The Cowboys went 8-8 in a terrible division and lost Ware and Hatcher of the d-line. Nobody is picking the Cowboys to make the playoffs in 2014.

Sorry, it's not apples to apples.

The Packers were a 10-6 team that choked at home in the first round of the playoffs, the coach/GM was stripped of his GM title and both starting guards left via free agency. They wound up going 4-12 during the 2005 season and missed the playoffs the following year as well.

Yeah, it's not apples to apples... The only point is, sometimes you pass on the move that will help you immediately over one that will help you in the future. That applies to every team in the NFL, not just the Cowboys.

Aaron Rodgers' rookie season was 2005 - the 4-12 year. The Packers have had, I believe, two losing seasons since 1992 - both of them with Ted Thompson as the GM.

Yeah, they went 4-12 in 2005 and 6-10 during Rodgers' first season as the starter, which I think was 2008.

Miami offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson apparently quit in the middle of his pro day workout today.
Four months ago, Henderson was considered a first-round pick. Now he'll be lucky to get drafted. Off-field issues, inconsistent play, terrible Senior Bowl, unimpressive combine and now this. Welcome to rookie free agency, kid.

He was also the consensus No. 1 prospect coming out of high school. Did not sign on Signing Day and sent recruit-niks through the roof.

I don't care if he wore a Dora the Explorer shirt to the combine, if he has first round talent at tackle, he will get drafted.

Agreed. Unless he comes up with a believable excuse for the behavior, he'll probably fall a few rounds. Players at that position are so valuable, some team will take a flier on him.

Somebody just needs to shit in his mouth and rape his sister to toughen him up a little bit.

I don't follow this stuff nearly as closely as I used to, but I have been reading the Pittsburgh papers. I don't think there is any chance they take an offensive tackle in the first round, certainly not with Dennard available. They would probably even take Ebron over a tackle.
