I thought you were leaving. Another lie. What a shock.

I never said there wasn't a good argument to be made that the USFL was a joke. I said the argument you made sucked, and it did. You still haven't admitted that your point about the draft pick was wrong, not that I ever expected you to.

I'm not romanticizing anything. I enjoyed the USFL at the time for the reasons I stated. Of course, I was 13 at the time of the league's last game, so my standards aren't quite what they are now. I still say the quality of play was better than you give it credit for. As a business model, however, it was a mess from the beginning and only got worse.

I like how you repeat shit I said like it was your original point.
I know I'm right on this, fuckhead. I don't need to prove it to you to be validated.

Keep trying to lie your way out of another one. Anybody who actually reads the thread knows better. You not only claimed the league was a joke and used only the selection of a kicker in the first round as evidence, you even tried to argue the point once Joe King pointed out how idiotic it was. You switched to other evidence, constantly changing your story along the way, later.

    God are you insufferable.
You might be the worst poster I've ever seen.
I am mostly playing a part. This is, like, the real you.

And there is the rest of the fart boy playbook. Can't win the argument? Attack the poster. If that fails? Say you are just playing a part so nothing you say matters, until you decide you want it to matter. Ah well. At least you managed the Jim Kelly line when I teed it up for you. You're welcome. Have a nice night.

You have an interesting definition of cheerleading.

Only two people posted anything close to positive about the USFL on this thread. Was the bit about parents being in middle school or high school at the time directed at joe king? If you've been reading at all, you'd know better than to apply it to me.

    I'm out of this discussion.
Stop trying to rope Fart back in.
Wake me up when we have actual draft news, not arguing about a 30-years-old dead league. It is not sane to debate the USFL for two pages.

True. I wonder if the concept could have worked, if a few owners hadn't overspent and ruined the entire business model.

Maybe there just isn't a market for a second pro football league any more than there is a pro women's soccer or hockey league. By the time you absorb 5-6 months of college and NFL football, people are ready for something different for a while.

I didn't rope you into anything. You chose to respond. Take responsibility for your actions for once.

Regarding your last point, who around here actually makes any claims of sanity?

There's been some bad football played in the NFL, too.

Perhaps one thing the USFL could have done better was pick some mid-size markets that didn't have other major pro teams. I attended a game in Birmingham, Alabama, once and the fans were really into it. I wonder if more cities like that, where the USFL team would be the only game in town, might have worked better than Los Angeles and Chicago.

I just liked having a football game on after school, even if it was a replay, on ESPN.

    Denver Gold, bitches.
