It really doesn't mean much. Now, if you had said that Kaepernick played a key role in the 49ers making it to the last two NFC championship games, that would have made sense. The idea of drafting his replacement and dumping him is just silly. He has been too good for that. The 49ers are too good for that. You just didn't make a very good argument.

Regarding Eli Manning, the truth is that he had Giants fans screaming for his head in the middle of the season when he led them to a Super Bowl. He was awful at times that season and really hadn't established himself as a top quarterback. He is still damn inconsistent and he was lousy last season, though the lack of pass protection played a major role in his diminished play.

I didn't even start the argument. I was just defending LTL's point with an apparently not too clear point of my own. I just think it's silly to say the Niners should have drafted a QB early. And I was referring to Peyton Manning. Eli does suck, about half the time.

Eli has been truly great, consistently, for about 14 games in his career (the last six or seven of the 2007 and 2011 seasons). The rest of the time he's been anywhere from abysmal to above average, often varying from one week to the next. And yet, those two stretches of great play where he somehow pulled it together and elevated nine- and 10-win teams to the Super Bowl are enough to make people forget all of that.

But, to BDC's point, it was obvious he was talking about Peyton Manning.

Interesting factoid: Texas did not have a player drafted for the first time since 1937. It was the longest streak in the country.

After last year's performance, I don't think people forgot. But they did think he was better than he really was for a little while. God, he was horrific most of last year.

Logan went to the perfect team for him. Arians and no pressure in Az.

Interesting that you felt the need to point that out.

Texas sucks. And it wasn't all on the coaching staff.

His comment could very easily have applied to either Manning.

77 years is a long time.

Texas didn't have a single lineman worthy of being drafted?

    That's hard to believe.

If Johnny Manziel was black he would have been drafted 1st.
