It's easy to go from worst to first when the best QB prospect in over a decade falls into your lap. :D

I wouldn't be surprised if a team goes from worst to first next season, but I'm guessing it will be the Falcons or Texans and not the Browns...

One player doesn't turn you from 2-14 to 11-5. This isn't the f-king NBA.
I think the Colts are a scumbag organization but this is a model to be studied.
They shipped out all the dead weight and bad money, as the Browns should be doing.

Best since Elway or Best since Manning... Either way the line fits...

One player getting hurt (Manning) turned them from a playoff team to 2-14. One player (Luck) and some good bounces (a really nice record in one-score games their first year) turned them back into 11-5. Yeah, there was some roster turnover, but, the QB position was the cause of their fall and the cause of their resurrection.

New QB, last-place schedule and a team that probably wasn't truly as bad as the record indicated the previous season. The 2013 Chiefs are a prime example of that.

Look at the entirety of the roster turnover.
Scheduling is a negligible factor in this era of the league.

The Browns problem isn't bad money. They have tons of cap space. Their problem is that they have sucked for the past 15+ years at talent evaluation, especially at the QB spot.

Arizona went from one of the truly boring teams in the league to a dangerous contender, with an ex-Raider at quarterback.

Schedule is predetermined other than 2 games. Last place schedule had nothing to do with it.

It doesn't hurt. Having a new coach helps as well.

I just don't like the once a generation label, especially for prospects. I'm ok if you say it once the career has happened, but people also called Tony Mandarich a once a generation talent.

Mandarich was chemically enhanced. Had he played before the NFL tested for steroids, he probably WOULD HAVE BEEN an all-timer.

(And he actually had a couple of decent years with the Jim Harbaugh-era Colts later in his career).
