There might never have been a dumber person to play football than Ben Roethlisberger.

I don't get why it matters.

I think on some level it does. Rodgers, Brees, Manning, Brady are all incredibly smart guys... Brett Favre and Dan Marino are morons.

Certainly smart guys and morons have succeeded at a very high level in the NFL. But yes, Kaepernick has never struck me as being very bright. Ryan Fitzpatrick does, but I'd take Kaep over him. :D

I try and chalk it up to a generational thing although Blake Bortles
carries himself like a HOFer in comparison.

I do give Kap credit for thanking Alex Smith today and saying that he would not
    be there without his help.

Yeah, the Smith comment made Kaep look good and Smith became a much likable player because he handled his demotion with a lot of class. I hated Smith most of the time he was with the Niners, but now I'd like to see him do well.

The only thing about him is when his legs go, his value is going to drop rapidly. Healthy, he is great. But he is one hit away.

Roethlisberger has certain football smarts than Kaepernick lacks.
Touch passing requires you not be a moron in order deliver the football to where a player will be.

Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck, among others, beg to differ on the generational thing.

Roethlisberger has better football instincts than Kaepernick.

The other players cited, Marino and Favre, never sounded like dopes when discussing the intricacies of pro offense.
Kaepernick does look like a fucking idiot when doing so, and it has nothing to do with the direction of the ballcap.

Bradshaw sounded like one, too. Of course, part of that was intentional.
