It's my understanding the new stadium will have a roof.

I've heard the argument about outdoors vs. indoors for the Vikings. I think it depends on what sort of team you have. Would the Packers' passing game be better off playing indoors?

As for Super Bowl week activities, I think they had some transportation issues a few years ago when it was held in Dallas.

True, but I'd say Minneapolis and other northern cities might be a tad better prepared for winter weather than DFW.

Heck, why not have it in Buffalo?

Seriously, it needs to be in a warm weather location. People go for the week and want to golf, swim or at least not wear a stinking winter coat. You also don't want to have a good chance of not being able to go home because your plane cannot takeoff because of snow or ice.

And Atlanta should never get one. The city basically shutdown this winter, again, over a little winter weather.

The league doesn't care if the fans enjoy themselves. It just wants money. Give them a new stadium on the taxpayer's dime (trillions of dimes), and you get a Super Bowl. I'm sure this is just a coincidence, but the northern Super Bowl games have all been pretty sucky contests, with the exception of the first one Super Bowl XVI, which was competitive when the Niners beat the Bengals, but was also a logistical disaster.

The show is played out. It is not interesting.
I can't believe NFL Network has the keys to one of the greatest film resources in the history of the world (WWII being the only one better) and we have to watch this tripe and reruns of it every summer.

Steelers sign Maurkice Pouncey to a six-year, $48 million extension. The deal actually reduces his cap number for 2014 slightly (by $100,000), but it seems a hell of a risk for a guy who hasn't played since he blew out his knee on the first drive of 2013 season and battled injuries in his previous seasons in Pittsburgh. Of course, he also was also photographed "Free Aaron Hernandez" along with his brother, Mike. I read one column pointing out that at least Maurkice apologized for it while Mike did not, but that just means he's a little smarter than his brother.

Pouncey is a heck of a player, but this one makes me nervous, especially for a team that has always seems to find itself with cap issues.

I got a strange "message alert" from the NFL app that said Brady's retiring after this season. It was followed up with one a few seconds later saying that Eric Ebron had signed with the Lions.

The link was broken and there's nothing else out there on the web. I'm guesssing this was some kind of error.

Watched Ebron play a bit at North Carolina. Big, fast, runs good routes, good hands. Can be a real stud if Stafford will get him the ball.

Vernon Davis, Marshawn Lynch and Andre Johnson (among others) all holding out for either trades or new deals.

Good. I rolled my eyes when I saw the story a day or two ago that he was threatening to retire.
