The NFL will rue the day that they started bowing to the court of public
opinion. It's now become a never ending slippery slope.

Maybe this is the Redskins' ticket back to the Super Bowl, they get 15 yards every time someone calls them by their name.

This Harbaugh story isn't going away.
If they even entertained the notion of a trade then there are cracks in the relationship.

It's funny with the c-unt word, as someone mentioned above, and who it offends. In Trenton I had several conversations with black women about the word -- about 7 or 8, and I know that's a small number -- but not one was/is offended by it. It's no more derogatory to them than the word taco.

But, they said, you call a black woman "bitch" and you better be prepared not to get your ass kicked 7 ways till Sunday. Bitch is their c-unt.

But then we have the Isiah Thomas precedent, which says "bitch" is OK as long as the man saying it is black.

If Schefter is right and the Browns only offered a second-round pick, I'm surprised this was considered for a second. I heard one report the first day that said it was both first-round picks this year, which I found a bit difficult to believe.

The Niners need to remember what the decade before Harbaugh was like before they start thinking they can do it without him. They hired him at a discounted rate because he didn't want to move and he signed for less $$$ than he could have gotten from Miami. I know he hasn't won a Super Bowl, but they should have no problem bumping him to $7-$8 mil a year. He's earned that.

I think there's truth to the story. It's in the Niners best interest to listen to see if the Browns offer something similar to what Tampa did to get Gruden. The Niners were in the middle of that deal because they picks were coming their way for Mooch until Davis had a change of heart at the last minute.

Mizzou, I think the feeling is that they have the structure -- between Baalke and the assistants -- that they could live without Harbaugh.

Also he is extraordinarily difficult to deal with. As much success as he brought Stanford, it didn't break anybody's heart when he left.

Bill Parcells left a Super Bowl team because of organizational differences.
Gruden left a championship contender for the same. It isn't rare.
I think there are legs to this story.

I think Harbaugh has a lot of Gruden in him and I think he may be pulling the same kind of stuff Gruden did in Tampa after he won the title. The differences are Harbaugh hasn't won a Super Bowl and I don't get the sense that he's lost the players the way Gruden did a year or two after they won the SB.

When I first heard the report where they were speculating that it was the No. 4 and No. 26 picks offered, I told one of my friends, "Take that and call David Shaw... Go back to the well..."

I also think Harbaugh's bullshit can suck organizational energy out of a place.

Harbaugh should not be above scrutiny. In last 2 years playoffs his red zone play calling left
    something to be desired.
