Thanks for your pedantic bray. I never knew any of this.
Moon played his prime in a gimmick offense built to rack up yards.
I don't see that variable much different than today's pass-happy league.

Moon got in as much for being a ground-breaking player as for his numbers.

Maybe Romo can get credit for paving the way for QBs to wear their hats backward on the sideline.

I haven't seen his stats contradicted here- because they can't be.
If you swap Tony Romo and Colin Kaepernick those teams finish about the same. Romo could exalt his station with a championship complement of players.
Dallas gave up 40 first downs in a game last season. That's not a football team.

No one has disputed that Romo's stats are excellent.

I'm just telling you he won't get into the Hall of Fame on his current path.

    Keep the faith, brother.

Doesn't mean shit to me if he does or doesn't.
But I do consider myself conversant in NFL history and can see when a guy is building a case.
Romo's numbers themselves have underlined how crappy the team has been constructed.
And he still has 23 fourth-quarter comebacks to his name.
Which active quarterbacks go besides Brady and Manning?

Brees. Rodgers is on his way. Maybe Roethlisberger.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Everyone else is either a no go or too young to know yet.

Eli is probably getting in. He is definitely getting in before Romo.

Remember who votes. The ring's the thing.

If Romo gets in, the Hall of Fame should add a Shits the Bed wing.

The rules to open up the passing game are even more different when you start comparing to Unitas and Tarkenton. And even then, he has a ways to go on the career totals.

Also, in the cases of Unitas and Elway, championships matter. You can argue whether it should or not all you like, but they do play a significant role in the voting.

Two responses to the same post? Whatever.

Moon didn't play his entire career in the Run-and-Shoot. But of course, you already knew that, too.

You also ignored the most significant points in Moon's favor, having to go to the CFL first due to the color of his skin and then dominating while he was there. You can argue if those are fair points all you like, but is there really any doubt that the voters considered them?

Romo doesn't need a ring to get in, but you can't get into the Hall if you're known as a choke artist whenever the playoffs are on the line.

If he gets rid of the choker tag, wins a couple playoff games and has 2-3 more good seasons, he has a shot. I don't think it will happen.

Peyton, Brady, Brees, and Rodgers are locks. Roethlisberger is probably close to being a lock. Eli probably is as well, but it would be interesting to see if he gets in if he doesn't have another good season.

Romo plays for a hot garbage organization.
This must be taken into account.
