The Steelers also cut Brent Jones.

Different players do better in different situations.

Why are you posting that as if it is new information? I mentioned it a couple of posts ago.

Miller is a hell of a player. His injury was a big reason why the offense started slowly in 2013. That said, he isn't even close to Graham as a receiver and this is a passing league.

I think Seattle, Pittsburgh, New York and Baltimore have shown people it's not as much of a passing league as people might think.

This has been a fascinating discussion about the exact technicalities of contract-ese.

It's as big of a game outside the lines as it is inside.

Harbaugh said all the right things yesterday. I don't know that I completely believe everything he said, but it did give me some hope that he and Baalke might be able to work things out.

You are one of those people who still talk about Pittsburgh being a running team, aren't you?

Barnwell with his thoughts about this season's salary cap and what it means for a few teams:

Have to agree with him that many of the players who took one-year deals with playoff contenders aren't going to do that again. They may not seek $10 million per year, but they will want three-to-four-year deals.

Agree as well that the weaker teams that are flush with cap space might not get as much as they think they are going to get in free agency.

Think really hard.... concentrate... to the two teams that won Super Bowls. I'll throw in the game they lost for context.

30/25 pass run split versus Arizona
22/33 pass run split versus Seattle
40/23 pass run versus Green Bay (they lost)

They have not been back since they went pass happy.

This will never happen, but I'm sure it got a lot of people talking in Texas...

I'm not sure it's even logistically possible to trade Romo, especially after his contract was just restructured. That's just Galloway having a little fun.

Snide from the guy who insisted that 228-pounds Shannon Sharpe was much bigger and stronger than 260-pound Jimmy Graham? You're kidding, right? The next time you demonstrate thought in your posts on this site will be the first.

Three games do not tell you what those teams were and they certainly don't tell you what they are. You can argue all you want that teams are better off running the ball more, but that isn't the way the league has gone overall. It certainly isn't reflected in how the Saints use Graham, which is the actual point of this discussion.

Yeah, I've always been a fan of his. I like when a guy stirs it up...

He makes decent points, but I can't imagine how the Cowboys could trade Romo without taking a huge cap hit. I also can't imagine the Texans would deal the pick for Romo, unless the Cowboys paid a large portion of his contract and probably threw in at least their first-rounder this year.
