It would be interesting if Dallas made a play to move up to take Manziel without Romo being part of the deal. Jones is known for overpaying if there is a particular player he really wants (Roy Williams, Joey Galloway...). Some of the mocks have Manziel falling out of the top 5. Dallas might not have to give up too much to move up 10 spots.

Moving up 10 spots always costs a lot.

So what would they do with Romo? I can't fathom how they'd fit both under the cap and still be able to pay Crybaby Bryant and the rest of the team.

    I can't either.

But if would be typical Jerry if it's true that he's in love with the idea of drafting Manziel.

I suspect Romo has greater value in Dallas --- where the owner loves him and he's something of a celebrity --- than he might elsewhere.

I could see giving up this year's No. 2 and next year's No. 1 to swap spots if they wanted Manziel. It might take a little more than that.

I don't think this is going to happen, but if Manziel is on the board at No. 7 or No. 8, Jones might be tempted. He's one of the few owners stupid enough to try something like this.

The Cowboys aren't going to take Manziel and they sure as hell aren't going to trade Romo. They just re-did Romo's contract to give him a $12.5 million signing bonus, all of which would accelerate and count against this year if he is traded before the draft. There is no way on earth they can handle that cap hit -- that's why they re-did Romo's contract (as well as a couple of others).

As much as Jones loves the circus, he's not trading up to take Manziel when he's married to Romo for the foreseeable future.

What do you guys think of Aaron Donald from Pitt? I saw him several times the past two years and was impressed. Huge body who played nose tackle, but could probably move to DT in a 4-3. Plugs the middle and shuts down an opponents' running game. I had seen him projected to go late first round, but today I saw a mock draft that had him going No. 5 to Oakland.

Is Daqueeze Denard of Michigan State the best corner?

Bears dumped Devin Hester as well.

NY-centric thought: Hakim Nix seems to be a rerun of the Curtis Granderson story. After a disappointing season with the "A" NY team, the "B" team, desperate for production & punch, swoops in & gets a really good player at a relatively good price. I bet he ends up with the Jets.
