So does this AFC Central of your imagination include the Jacksonville Jaguars?

They fired Jack Del Rio a couple of years ago, and Tom Coughlin a few years before that.

It's the Browns. They would trade him to Pittsburgh for a fifth rounder, then in two months the Steelers would trade him back for a third.

I read something that said that everything exploded when Haslam forced them to interview Schiano at the urging of Urban Meyer and Belichick and Banner wanted no part of him, which is probably one of the reasons why the second Schiano interviewed, there was already a report out there that he wasn't getting the job.

If I'm on the current coaching staff, I'm renting, not buying...

Here's the PD's explanation of how it all unraveled: http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2014/02/joe_banner_and_mike_lombardi_e.html#incart_flyout_sports

The Browns fan boards I've read have applauded this move.
Banner and Lombardi were not popular.
The Browns need more football men and fewer executives.

I saw something on PFT that stated that Haslam wants Peyton Manning to run the organization as soon as he retires.

There was also something that said McDaniels was actually in the mix until the very end for the Browns job and it's unclear who signed off on him not getting the job.

So if Pettine is the coach at this time next year, everyone can effectively be stunned.

Browns fans never liked Lombardi, and they grew to hate Banner.
And in fairness other than the Richardson trade (Hi JC! :) ) They didn't give them a lot of evidence to their competence.

That said, constantly rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic does not a good team make.

I thought Lombardi was pretty good on TV. Guess he can go back to doing that.

    Good story by Cabot.

I thought he was too, but Cabot's story seemed to indicate he was going to New England.

They all go back to Belichick when they shit their pants and get fired, like getting succor from the pope.
