Almost the same play but not exactly. Principle point of contact was Weise's head. I thought the intent was worse. It's the NHL so who knows, my guess is 2 possibly 3.

I get your point, but I think the NHL will have to parse those videos pretty damn carefully to say that Weise's head was more of a principle point of contact than Stepan's.

As for intent, Prust's was an unprovoked dirty hit. Moore's was (likely) a retaliatory hit. I don't buy that Moore's intent was somehow worse than Prust's.

I think it would be ridiculous for Moore to get a longer suspension than Prust, considering Prust broke Stepan's jaw.

Prust also never got a penalty. Moore did and was thusly removed for the rest of the game.

    Moore should get one.

Will be interesting to see how the Rangers react to Prust being back.

Still, I think the Rangers wrap it up at home tomorrow.

Who cares whether Prust got a penalty. I'm not exactly sure how he didn't but that doesn't mean a thing. Prust gets one if it's not a broke jaw.

The reason I think Moore gets as many if not more than Prust is again, when you break it down Prust hits chest first and then head. This stuff matters when it comes to suspensions. Whether it should or not is debateable but it does or it has in the past. Moore's hit was worse even if the result wasn't.

In reality they are both awful and unnecessary and until the NHL is consistent with the length of suspensions this shit will never change.

It wasn't a late hit by NHL standards but it was blindside, head shot and he left both feet.
