That was a BS goal. But this has been a hell of a series.

This just occurred to me watching the game (and its endless references to the official rum of the National Hockey League) last night.

Is it just me or does Chris Kreider in playoff facial hair mode bear a striking resemblance to Captain Morgan himself?

    I think it's the eyebrows.

Excellent job angling for an endorsement deal for your client.

Agree it has been a heck of a series though not unexpected, IMHO.

I would think both coaching staffs have been working hard on cleaning up decision-making in the defensive zone. Hank's play speaks for itself and although Quick hasn't been at the top of his game in this series or the playoffs in general, he's made the timely save over and over again.

As far as the controversial Game 2 goal, it seems a lot less cut and dry at real-time speed. King got assistance into the goalie. Whether goaltender obstruction should be reviewable has been debated - and will continue to be - among general managers.

I don't like the idea of getting replay more involved in judgment calls. But the officials on the ice should have been able to make that call. When I saw it at real-time speed, I immediately thought goaltender interference.

The Kings are amazing in their ability to come back, two goal deficits and all. It does make for more interesting games. Some of us can remember days when a two-goal lead was pretty much a guaranteed win. Not anymore and I think that makes the games more exciting to watch, regardless of whom you may be rooting for. Good for the sport.

Won't be surprised if New York bounces back and wins Game 3 tonight at MSG.

You mean like 5 years ago Mark?

Is there anybody on here who doesn't remember watching hockey 5 years ago?

Do you remember prior to the 2004-05 lockout and subsequent rule changes?

    Talk about a real challenge.

I educate lots of folks, most of whom actually want to learn, though.

I do know that, a year ago, a two-goal lead against the Kings would have been money in the bank. They couldn't score goals to save their lives. I believe they had a grand total of 35 goals in 17 playoff games.

Getting healthy and adding Gaborik worked wonders.

Yeah, so glad to see Gaborik having a great postseason run. Even when he was in Minnesota, he showed some flashes of being a terrific scorer, a guy who can create his own shot. Just never could stay healthy long enough to justify the mega contract with the Wild.
