Hell of a way for the Wings to lose, puck hitting off a Wing, a Bruin, a Bruin then another Wing. Crazy.

I feel like the Duck defensemen aren't amazing and if the opponent has a shutdown D pair they put out against Perry/Getz, they can take their chances getting beat by Maroon and company. Whereas with LA, you put that pair against Anze and Richards/Carter might eat you alive, San Jose similarly. I'm surprised Dallas' D has held up to that so far and I didn't realize Eakin had that much in him.

I'm also surprised San Jose's D corps has held up against LA.

Gotta get hydrating. Flu is tough. Cough Cough.

It is possible, although unlikely, that should the Bruins beat Detroit and go all the way to the Cup, they could play four other Original Six teams in succession, Red Wings, Canadiens, Rangers and Blackhawks. That would be very awesome. It'd be just as awesome if the Red Wings did it.

Um, Dick, the Capitals are really upset about your assertion that Chicago is the least physical team in the league. But Tom Wilson is on vacation and nobody else will do anything about it, other than just lie there and take it.

Being physical and being dirty are two completely different things.

All teams have their dirty moments, Seabrooks hit was atrocious and Keith is a cheap little piece of shit. No different than most teams other than the fact that the players I mentioned are also great players.

;D I met Mary Ann there and the 1980-81 season was a special one, but the Ornest-ordered trade still bothers both of us.

Kane is soft. Keith is dirty and undersized, and they do prefer puck-moving second pairings on defense.

But the rest of the team has always been a perfectly normal mix of fairly physical players.

Seems to work fairly well for them

I responded to your post last week about the one-line Ducks, but either I fumbled away the post or somebody took it down. I don't know why that would have happened because I didn't call you an ignorant slut or anything.
I did point out that the Ducks had 11 guys with at least 9 goals and they led the league in scoring. Improved depth was one of the keys to the team. They are hardly a one-line team.
And the goalies, that's probably why Boudreau is bald. Hiller excelled again at the Olympics, but tailed off when he got back. He was 6-9-3 after a 14-game winning streak. The team slumped after the Olympics but finished on a hot streak with Andersen and Gibson in goal. Anderson ended up with much better numbers than Hiller. I have no idea if it'll be Andersen or Hiller tonight in Game 5, but thinking Hiller.

To be honest, the Ducks were pretty stable the whole season, now they seem to be in disarray. That can happen when you take the best player out of the lineup -- domino theory, filling that hole messes up the other lines, too. They lost 2 of 3 to the Stars in the regular season and are having trouble containing their speed.

You know, I wouldn't mind seeing 4-on-4 overtime at some point.

That Eakin-Garbutt-Roussel line seems to be giving them fits.
