That 'Mania match with Scott Hall was such a waste of Austin's time. In retrospect Rock/Hogan was perfect and Rock perfectly played the Toronto crowd, but when I was a kid/fan I didn't really get that Rocky was as big as Stone Cold.

    Andddd this week’s Observer tidbits:

    - TNA’s latest PPV got an abysmal response, despite (because?) of them hot-shotting Eric Young to the title spot. He retained over Magnus. Half the matches on the card got 1 star. Angle apparently looked especially bad, with a huge brace on his leg that he could barely walk around with.

Spike is believed to be more interested in renewing its TV contract with TNA, because TNA has cut some costs, and because the WWE hasn’t shown much interest in going back there. Also, Jarrett’s promotion probably won’t be off the ground by then, plus, it’s believed that might even up on CMT or something similar anyway.

On the plus side, Brooke Adams (Tessmacher) said that because of her injury, she was able to get a past bad boob job fixed. So, they’ve got that going for them.

    - AJ Lee is still expected to be back in four to six weeks. She’s currently on vacation with CM Punk.

Drake Weutz (Drake Younger) will be in developmental soon. The WWE also signed Leyvonna Zakari Swaggart, a former actress from the reality TV show “Pageant vs. Playmate.” However, she is Samoan and went through a tryout camp, so she’s not seen as a gimmick signing. They might also sign Sarita, but given that she’s 35, she’s possibly seen more as someone they could sign in an emergency situation to fill a spot.

Darren Young is out until September or October following surgery for a torn ACL.

Regal is an agent for the WWE, and he was scouting in Brazil for talent to sign. It’s seen as an intriguing market to expand into for them, although the reputation of pro wrestling is poor, and past house shows in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro did not do well.

    - David Benoit, the 21-year-old son of Chris Benoit, will be making his ring debut on a Hart Legacy Show in Canada in July. He’s team with Chavo, and he has been training with Harry Smith (son of the British Bulldog).

    - From the “Where are they now?” files, Tough Enough winner Andy Leavine is wrestling in Puerto Rico with Carlos Colon and the Invader. Alex Riley is still with the WWE, but is seen as on-camera talent more than in-ring talent, and has stopped wrestling as a result.

The original Sin Cara, Mistico, is set to re-debut in Mexico, under the Sin Cara name. He’s insistent that he has the trademark on the name in Mexico, while the WWE will continue to use the name in the states. Neither entity seems to care enough to sue the other.

    - The newspaper obit for Daniel Bryan’s father didn’t mention that his son was a world famous wrestler and titleholder. Good ole newspapers.

    Spoilers part:

    - Japanese star Kenta Kobayashi has announced that he’s not re-signing with NOAH after his contract expires on April 30, and he is believed to be joining the WWE. He had a tryout in January with them that was kept quiet because he was under contract still. His “farewell” show in Japan will be May 17. There is a small chance that he is instead going to New Japan. He’s a former kickboxer, and CM Punk and Daniel Bryan have both taken from his style.

    - Because TNA is TNA, MVP is already turning heel for the May 8 show, and will be Eric Young’s next title challenger.

    - Undertaker hasn’t been ruled out for Mania next year, but it’s believed the WWE doesn’t want him to wrestle a proper match, given his health issues and how he lost this year.

    - Bill Goldberg is in play for the “specialty attraction” slot of Mania. He’s said to be in great shape even though he’s 48, and he’s one of the few cards left for the WWE to play, given that they’ve used Lesnar, The Rock, Hogan and Warrior in recent years.

    - Paige will stripped of the NXT women’s title because she has the Divas title. The finals on the NXT main event will be Charlotte vs. Natalya, with Charlotte the heavy favorite because she’s not on the main roster.

    - Adam Rose debuts this week on the main roster, or at least, he’s scheduled to.

I'm not sure if the Shield goes over....maybe one of them turns and becomes the fourth member of Evolution? Rollins, if Reigns is building to fight HHH?

The network is great....no way I'm watching this as a PPV and I'm actually a little excited to see how this match turns out and what happens with Bray.

Seth Rollins pulls a New Jack, that is, without the blades and weapons. God bless him.

Seth Rollins is shit nuts. He must really trust his co-workers. Great to see The Shield go over. Not at all surprised to see Reigns get the clean win. He's going to be pushed to the moon if he can keep improving.

I'm not sure how I feel about this ending, whether it's cool or it sucks.

I get the psychology. But it also smacks of shitty 1994 WWF, too.

Oh, and SuperCena can get the better of the three Wyatts, but he gets stopped by a little kid?

Agreed. Unless Cena turns it's pointless. His reactions are starting to feel like Bret when Bret was a face and the crowd decided it likes Michaels and Austin. But they're not as mixed as they were when he was against Punk....at least it doesn't sound that way to me.
