The only logical explanation for the Henry burial is the idea that Lesnar is the absolute top dog and can beat the hell out of anyone on the roster. By all accounts, if you had to rank the big guys in terms of who could legit whip your ass, it would probably be 1. Show, 2. Henry, 3. Heath Slater (I kid, I kid).
Point is, you have Lesnar take out Henry because--Ermygod, he just destroyed Mark Henry!!!!- and that leaves the only logical person to respond as Show.
It's not great ... or even good ... booking but it works, I suppose.

On the Masked Man's podcast, he mentioned that Show probably is viewed more positively by the WWE brass because, for better or worse, he doesn't have the injury issues that Mark Henry has historically had. Show might only be capable of a C+ match at best, whereas Henry is legitimately good, but you can book an angle with Show and know that he's probably going to be able to complete it. Henry, not so much.

For a guy his size, Show has had incredible durability and longevity in pro wrestling terms. He's not the same as his early WCW days, but still moves well for a 41 year old guy carrying around his weight and miles.

  4. I don't even hate Big Show though I think they need to figure out a way to give him some stability rather than having him turn at the drop of a hat. I just think Henry/Lesnar would've had some potential actually be a pretty good program to help get Lesnar to whatever big thing they have waiting for him at Mania.

I agree with this - I think Big Show actually works best as the goofy giant, and Mark Henry is best as the mean ass silverback. And if a heel-heel program was going to work, him vs. Lesnar might have been one, since you'd be pitting two of the baddest dudes in the company against one another.

That was one of my favorite RAWs in awhile.

I can't believe there's no mention of the "That's because you were booking the territory" line from JBL. That was hilarious and I can't believe he said that.

They could have switched Henry and Big Show, but it doesn't really matter. Lesnar's killing them both, then killing Cena at Elimination Chamber (whether he wins or not).

RIP Mae Young. What an incredible career.

My favorite story about her was in Lawler's book, when he was driving her and Moolah in Memphis in the late 90s. She saw a hotel, and said she'd stayed there and wrestled in Memphis on Dec. 7, 1941. Lawler said he nearly drove the car off the road when she said that.

F4WOnline reporting that the concussion is pretty bad, that Bryan didn't remember a lot of what happened in the match.

I think on Monday they may take the effort to do a 10-bell salute, like they did for Owen. Mae was that beloved in WWE circles.

I think we'll get more than that. They'll almost certainly dig up the HOF video package and give her a brief segment. IIRC, it's what they did for Savage, and the McMahons actually LIKED Mae Young.
