Busy weekend, so I'm just now catching up to SmackDown. Still can't believe Cesaro won clean over Orton. Great for Cesaro, but I'm guessing it just build's to Randy's improbable EC win on Sunday. Because surely he'll never win in the Chamber because the announcers have beaten us over the head with it.

Also, agreed on the subject of T-shirts. Other than the white BitW shirt (and I'd like to get the black one), I can't take any other design seriously. As previously said, I'd get the Cena shirt just because it's so damn tacky. But why can't we get a decent Bryan shirt? I understand the idea behind the post shirt. It's been ripped off by everyone. Michael Myers? Fear. Zod? Kneel. We get it. But the actual art work doesn't even come close to the same spirit as the whatever the original poster was (which I don't even remember) or the clever online knock-offs I just mentioned. The red one is even worse. You could have the local sporting goods place screen print something that would look just as good. Oh, but sew a jock tag on the bottom and it's "AUTHENTIC." Authentic shit.

I don't know if this was the intent (kinda doubt it) but I feel sorry for Randy Orton. Gets the blessing of the Authority, they immediately start doubting him. Eventually beats Bryan for the held-up title, they love him, then they start cozying up with Cena and doubting him. Beats Cena to unify the belts, Authority loves him again, then they doubt him, then they love him, then Batista comes back and the doubt him. He'll win the Chamber, get another effusive introduction at the start of the next Raw, and they'll be doubting him in favor of Batista again by the end of the evening. He's lost his evil edge, except when his evil edge has gone too far. They want him to be compliant when he rebels and more assertive when he's compliant. No wonder the poor bastard hears voices in his head.

They might as well just do the double-turn at Wrestlemania and make Orton a lone wolf psychopath who fights Cena/Bryan and the Authority. Maybe even link him with the Wyatts, though history shows that he grows a shitty beard.

The thing I hate the most about this Orton storyline is that this is his time as a heel and he's an absolute bore.
I say this knowing the outrage it will spark but Orton might be the best all-around wrestler they have right now. He's great in the ring (substantially underrated if you ask me) and he holds his own on the mic ... when he remembers his lines. While I prefer Bryan and Punk, Orton also has the look the McMahons are apparently fond of so, if I had to choose, I'd rather see him over Cena or Batista as the so-called "face of the company."
The problem is he's shitty as a face and they're doing his heel run all wrong. That run he had up to WM25 where he feuded with HHH was epic. I love deranged Orton. This neutered/unsure Orton, while still great in the ring, does nothing for me from a storyline perspective.

  4. I don't and won't buy WWE merchandise but I've perused their stuff a couple times and agree with most of this. I will say, however, that a lot of The Shield's stuff looks pretty cool. It's mostly very simple but it works in my mind.

I agree. They've almost made him into a chicken heel, whereas I think the best role for Orton is as more of a sadistic, evil heel. Orton shouldn't be cheating via outside help and interference - He should be taking turnbuckle padding off, piledriving guys on cement, low-blowing them outside the ring, etc.

Absolutely agree with both. When Orton turned, I hoped for something similar to the run schieza mentioned, when he was handcuffing Trips to the ropes, then DDT-ing and kissing Steph just out of reach. That Randy Orton was amazing. The corporate lackey version? A waste of airtime and talent.

I'd be the first one to complain that we've seen psycho heel Orton a million times, even if it was better.

True but it is a needed change compared to what's going on in the company right now. As a character, it would be a rehash but, given the context of storylines right now, there's nothing else like it. I suppose you could say Lesnar fills that role but he's only around X dates per year. This would be a welcome change at the top of the card.

I'd rather see something stale but good as opposed to something that's new but missed the mark entirely. Like, I think Cena is in need of something new, but I wouldn't want to see his persona switch from Clark Kent to Peter Parker.

Basically, the only thing I like about Randy Orton is his theme music and I would complain no matter what.

Multiple sources are reporting that Viscera/Big Daddy V has died of a heart attack. Sadly not a surprise if you remember how very large he was.

Had just posted this on the random images thread a few days ago ...

He also got a timely Wrestlecrap induction that's worth reading: http://www.wrestlecrap.com/inductions/viscera/

RIP, Big Daddy V. Your ginormous man-boobs will always have a place in our heart.
