Yes, he is a tick below the elite, but yesterday was the bst you'll ever see from a goalkeeper. That was unreal.

As a Man United fan, I thought that De Gea was the best keeper in terms of saving with his legs. Timmy's performance yesterday was a clinic.

I don't get this whole "explaining things" complaint. There was a graphic up telling you they would play two full 15-minute periods, then go to PKs. And there is stoppage/injury time added to EVERY period. It ain't that hard to understand. However, when I watched one of the games, maybe Argentina/Switzerland, they had Darke and McManaman calling it, and I thought back to what was being discussed earlier on in the thread about the English slant of the coverage. Those guys didn't do too many matches that I saw, but they are ESPN's top team by default because they have been around a while and ESPN does EPL games. I'd much rather have Keller and anyone else calling it than those two. They are indeed soccer snobs.

Is Eric Lichaj not good enough to be on the US National team anymore?

He had no business making that save with his very last cleat, but he did. And a couple of those chances, you just KNEW he had no chance. Not a huge Howard fan because of his abrasive leadership style, but he impressed me a lot in that game. And adding to that, the few times I have seen Guzan play, the guys in front of him seem to really work hard for him, but maybe that's my imagination. I have an unhealthy obsession with Howard always screaming at everybody after a play or set piece.

Darke is insanely good. And he and Macca have great chemistry. They don't condescend. Love them.

Let's be honest though, the Men in Blazers are the stars of ESPNs coverage.

I assume they just tune him out. Everything that you hear about Guzan is that his teammates love him, including Howard.

Not a big fan of the Men in Blazers, but they are growing on me. I really do like Darke, but not a fan of Macca at all. He just comes off as a prick.

Landon Donovan wasn't. I don't see how Eric Lichaj could be. ;)

The idea the Univision guys were explaining things like that - as Boom said - is laughable.

Exactly. It makes the ESPN guys look neglect.
