2014 World Cup

I'm enjoying seeing these little Latin American countries beating up on big bad Europe. Costa Rica over Italy, Uruguay over England, Chile over Spain, etc. These are not normal scores, right?

ESPN needs to dumb down their broadcasts as it's likely that majority of
viewers are soccer neophytes.

They are treating broadcast like everyone is a soccer expert.

 

I'm just relieved when the Latin American countries win, so it's less likely they'll be executed when they return home.

 

No, those would be "Americans are really going to like soccer after this great World Cup!"

Then, crickets.

 

I am convinced my 10-year-old nephew's house league soccer team goalie would have stopped that second French goal.

 

It was one of the softest goals of this tournament. You never get beaten near post in that situation.

 

Both sides have seemed to have quieted down in 2014. Its better now.
