Wow. You never see two three four quick goals like just happened in Germany-Ghana.

Don't know if you are aware of this but heading into this Word Cup, Messi has been the target of criticism from Argentinians who have seen him as an underachiever in international play. With big goals in each of his first two games, this tournament might be his LeBron 2012 moment playing for his country.

BTW, please pardon me if my sarcasm meter is broken. It doesn't always go off when it should when it comes to soccer.

    I agree.
It's annoying to someone like me who is trying to learn and appreciate the game.
These broadcasts have not been very accommodating.

I seems like if CBS can do team specific broadcasts for the Final Four, ESPN can do a soccer fan and soccer neophyte broadcast for the World Cup

ESPN is no stranger to dumbing shit down.
It can do so for soccer with no appreciable net loss.
You can't say you want to grow your sport and then alienate your viewers.

I'd be pretty mad if I were a Bosnia fan right now.

Although on replay, that was a good no-call on the goal. They just got robbed of a goal earlier.

I think US fans are getting a bit overconfident. The team stole one against Ghana while being outplayed and is now without Altidore. Portugal is catching the US at the right time just as much as the US is catching them.

Ghana has looked very dangerous in both matches and I think them beating Portugal is looking pretty good, so I doubt a draw vs. Portugal and a loss vs. Germany is enough.

This scenario is not only reasonably probably, it has the added annoyance factor of having Ghana move on at the US's expense.

Sometimes I think we're getting somewhere in the world, and sometimes I read this kind of thing.

Iran still won't allow females to attend sporting events.

    LOL.

Yeah, that's the biggest problem facing women in Muslim countries.

Sorry. I'm not worldly enough to look beyond their problems getting through gates at sporting events.

I think the Americans will be going hard for a win tomorrow and they could get it for two reasons: Ronaldo is not 100 percent and will need to see serious time against the US because Portugal can't afford to lose and the Portuguese are down a starting defender due to suspension.

The Americans could lose easily because their down their best striker and they were terrible at trying to hold possession up 1-0 against Ghana. That said, the US looked its best when Ghana scored the goal and they went into desperation mode.

Regardless, this is very much a "holy shit, we could actually cheat death" feeling right now for the Americans.
