We can beat Portugal and can just as easily lay an egg. That's not fence sitting, that's just being honest about the way this team plays. Hopefully, Dempsey's nose won't be an issue, and he'll take the team on his shoulders. Bradley has to be 100 percent better than he was the other night.

  2. ESPN is afraid of American broadcasters acting like Kent Brockman. We need to have an English chap tell the scarf-wearing, iPhone-wielding, hipsters sporting retro eyeglass frames how smart they are for "understanding" the beautiful game.

That's what I'm driving at. Thanks for posting the piece.
I don't want to be pandered to by a Brit douchebag.
    No American should.

Would 3-0 be considered a blow out in soccer?

"Here's some random opinions about soccer and also I'm just going to write out a description of what happened in a Simpsons episode."

It's like sending out a stringer and getting a HS basketball gamer that starts in the first-quarter and writes 600 words of play-by-play interspersed with awful cliches.

I think we try to park the bus early. They need 3 points or else Germany and the US can play for a tie and both advance. Get them tired and frustrated and try to win on the counter later. I'd go 4-2-3-1 with Dempsey up top by himself. Then bring in Wondo or Aron late.

I love the ball boy making Ronaldo whine here.

Have to maintain possession better than they did against Ghana. If Bradley isn't himself today, it's a USMNT loss.

The USA is averaging 1 goal every 45 minutes. They need to improve on that number today.

Agreed. We rarely strung together more than a couple of passes last match. That is where the Jozy loss hurts the most. He's an effective post-up and pass forward.
