I was amused by the AP cutline today that said Suarez's teeth "collided" with Chielini's shoulder.
I think that should be the new euphemism for biting. My teeth are going to collide with some Dorittos later.

Marv Albert stubbed his toe on the bed leg and repeatedly collided with that woman's back.

The coming surge in the popularity of soccer has potentially dangerous implications for the youth of America.

Thankfully, the women from the 1999 national team are stepping up to protect our kids:

Good for them. Heading the ball is wildly dangerous. I cringe every time I see a header
in the World Cup. It would not surprise me if it turned out that Suarez has CTE.

As the sport has now arrived in the US this is a good time to teach the youth of America
proper safety habits. It's not going to be long before the header is outlawed at least
at the youth level and also likely at the HS level. It's the right step, no different than
    baseball eliminating collisions at home-plate.

I got a concussion playing soccer. It didn't come from a collision with a player. I got it heading the ball. Granted, it was outside in winter, and the ball was hard as concrete.

I don't know about the whole outlawing headers thing. We may outlaw it here, but it sure as heck won't be outlawed world wide, which means there will be an aspect of the game where our players are behind.

It has to start somewhere. No doubt that retired Premier league players are paying close
attention the the NFL players concussion lawsuit.

If it could be designed to slow the ball down yes, but otherwise it could speed up
the ball and put goalie at risk. As it is, the ball comes in so hard, I am surprised that goalies
    do not have more padding.

It is a disgrace, but is it really that different from the "Throw the ball deep and hope for a PI call" strategy in football?

My VPN isn't working well right now and I can't seem to get on any sports news sites.

What time is the U.S. game on Thursday?

    Thanks.
