Doubtful, a plane with $2M in cash is en route.

Now if it doesn't land on time ... <cough USAF cough> ... maybe.

And an officiating crew from Uzbekistan, yeah, no shenanigans or game-fixing possible at all.

Print it out and refer to it during the match.

Doesn't mean there's more money to be had elsewhere.

The driving rain here on Brazil’s northeast coast won’t give the U.S. any breaks on Thursday but Ghana already has.

Ghana sent home two of its top veteran players for disciplinary reasons ahead of their must-win game against Portugal. Midfielders Sulley Muntari, who was suspended for the game already for receiving two yellow cards, and Kevin Prince Boateng were thrown out of camp for fighting with team authorities.

Boateng didn’t start in Ghana’s defeat to the U.S., a move that had him clearly miffed after the 2-1 loss. Muntari has been a key player for Ghana.

The moves follow a one-day strike by the team, which refused to train earlier this week and threatened not to play unless their country’s soccer federation guaranteed payments.

If the U.S. loses to Germany by multiple goals and Ghana wins by multiple goals, the U.S. will be eliminated. The U.S. advances with a tie against Germany.

Of course, one of those players was already yellow card accumulation suspended for today and the other was likely to be on the bench. But the turmoil can't help.

Ghana-Portugal may end up the worst-played match of the entire tournament ... Which again favors the Yanks. So far, it's all Milhouse.

But never sell short Portugal's uncanny ability to completely tap out. They do it over and over again.

Working against it doubly, since we also need Portugal to get a result.
