Two great individual efforts on that one.

The U.S. is the Vanderbilt. Important in its own way, but an alsoran on the BCS(occer stage). Waiting for the excuses to start pouring...

Eh, looked at the wrong grouping. They got Spain and the Netherlands (two finalists from 2010 in the same group?), so they'll need an upset.

Too bad that the US (probably) won't get to play Iran.

That's a ridiculous penalty call there.

Good to see World Cup games are still fixed.

Holy shit, that was an NBA Finals-level shit call.

If they're going to make calls like that, just hand over the trophy now and let's call it a tournament.

I try to give officials benefit of the doubt.

No question the Croatian player had his hand on the shoulder, but Samba and the Azzurri read from the same book on flopping. No way that should have been called.

I do too. It's tough. But wow, that wasn't even close. Absolutely brutal.

And no way does Croatia get that call at the other end.

That's the bottom line. Two sets of rules.

Think that official hasn't read - or at least heard about - the story of the official whose head ended up on a pike?
