It was just a simple call for the ref. Rafa tripped him without a doubt and cost him possession.

Ian Darke made a good point: the Dutch said they changed/implemented new tactics at the last water break, after which, they stepped up and won the game; water breaks are fine, but managers shouldn't be allowed to huddle with the team; it's not a timeout as in football or basketball; the purpose is player health; if teams are using it to adjust play, that changes the dynamic of the game.

In short, if water breaks are needed, give them, but the managers should be required to keep their distance from the players.

And the Greeks tie it up in extra time. Wow.

Fan of the Dutch. Hate Mexico. So obviously pleased with the result. But hate diving more than Mexico. It's ridiculous.

Close to an epic day for CONCACAF, but good for the Ticos.

    Feel better about Tuesday.

As for who's after Belgium, I don't know which one I'd rather not face: Messi, or Shaqiri.

Tuesday is doable. We just have to play. We run into a brick wall in the Argies after that. Game over. But hey, what do I know; I said before the tournament we wouldn't get out of the group!

Absolutely doable. Especially how this WC is shaping up. Win Tuesday, you're playing with house money. Hell, at this point you're close to playing with house money.

If Kompany is out, that does really give us a glimmer of hope. We need possession -- having Jozy back and Clint a little more withdrawn would really help. Goal against Portugal and header at the end Thursday aside, he's been invisible the past two games.

Mark the hell out of Fellaini and go score. That's the key Tuesday. He hasn't turned it on so far, but the guy can score some crazy goals.
