The Giants are a FB hitting team; that bullpen doesn't scare me. The funky guys like Neshek have better success against the Giants.

Petit's most valuable as a multi-inning guy, not a shut down situation reliever.

I'm not saying the Royals bullpen is not a weapon; those 3 have had tremendous seasons and postseason; but I think the Giants match up better with that type of bullpen rather than the more traditional lefty-righty bullpen (LaRussa type).

That bullpen does scare me because they know how to make hitters unbalanced. Once you get the Giants chasing one bad ball, it's over. But I will say this: the first time the Royals pen gets beat, the series will take a dramatic shift in favor of the Giants. It may never happen, but if it does, the Royals are in trouble.

The Giants have postseason home runs from every player in the lineup except the #3 and 4 hitters, Posey and Sandoval.

Wondering if something's up with Posey. Between getting thrown out at the plate three times (he's normally slow but not THAT slow) and all 15 of his postseason hits being singles, at the very least it seems like the long year has worn on him. I can't even remember a ball that got near the warning track.

If I'm Yost, Shields doesn't see the mound again this postseason. I would start Duffy in 5.

Aside from the leadoff homer to Blanco, Ventura threw a nice game through 5.2. Kid has great stuff.

KC has a conundrum: How much will they pay to keep the Cains and Venturas of the world?

By not being cheap bastards and sticking their revenue-sharing proceeds in their pocket.

Posey has hit the ball hard in my recollection, he's just not getting air under them. He hit a couple hard against St.L, particularly one to the RCF track that I thought had a chance to go out. He's hit several to deep RCF so to me that's a good sign he's hitting with authority and not pulling off the ball to generate power. It goes in spurts; Hunter had only 1 since 9/1 before Gm. 1. I think Posey is far down the list as a concern.

Yeah, Posey's single in the first inning of Game 1 was a rope. It just happened to be hit right at Alex Gordon, so Blanco didn't try to score. While it didn't wind up mattering, at the time he might have been better served to not hit it as well.

Also, aren't they both a long way away from free agency? I don't think either is even eligible for arbitration before next season.

Ventura is arb eligible in 2017, Cain after next this season.

    EDIT: Believe Steak is right.
