He must have a really good curve, since he can't hit one.

The Braves have hired Kevin Seitzer as hitting coach. Figured there are enough Royals followers around here who can tell me if that's a good move.

I'll defer to Rany on this one.

Even as a Dodgers guy, I enjoy watching Bumgarner do what he does in the World Series. Numbers don't lie.

Some Jays players raved abut his approach during the offseason and spring training, by the end of the year Adam Lind was carving him in the media.

Adam Lind, who had his best season since 2009 under Seitzer's tutelage?

After ready the Rany piece (thanks for that, BC) and doing some Googling, I've gleaned that Seitzer got blamed for Hosmer and Moustakas not developing, but neither one has gotten any better since he left.

He also got a great season out of Jeff Francoeur, which is a damn miracle.

Bumgarner saves himself in the NLDS and NLCS because he knows his team is good enough to get him through and he wants to be at his peak in the World Series.

    Are they clutchy?

Well, the bad news is that the Giants are one game away from being confirmed Clutch For All Time.

The good news is that defense and three elite relievers isn't the new ultimate strategy that every team should adopt.

Good point. You need four. Including one who can do it three innings at a time.
