Bonds's power would have probably fill a shortcoming in this lineup, but considering he might have wanted to watch the Arizona State game on a Saturday when others may have wanted to watch a Big Ten match-up - just to throw out a possible example - I'm not sure it would have been worth it.

The 2014 Giants have the best outfield of all time. Who knew.

Defensively, Perez plays left field as well as Bonds did. The knock on Barry in left was always his arm. He just disguised it because he knew how to position himself. Perez doesn't have the savvy to throw out runners despite an OK arm, but he gets to balls I don't think a 'roided Bonds reaches.

My god, you are actually serious about this. I thought you were just playing along.

OK, fine, I'll bite. Bonds was the greatest left fielder to ever play for the Giants. I wish I had him roaming the vast expanses of Kauffman Stadium because he would have given us the best chance to win Game 6, defensively. He leaves wildly athletic guys like Perez in the dust with how he played the position. He improved his play in left field every year after he left the Pirates and the steroids did nothing to slow that down.

Hitting is kind of useful too.

    Now that's a hot take.

LTL, are most Giants fans like this?

This is amazing. A guy who hit almost .500 for the series, to go along with 13 walks, would be good as a bench bat.

I'm wacky enough to get with the program and believe Perez was a better start than Morse at times in this series, even against a lefty, but ... no. This one's pretty out there.

Spartan, we have a day off here. It's time to re-calibrate.

OK, OK. It's clear I've presented my case badly. Let me see if I can do better: I wish I had Bonds magically be available to hit a home run in Game 6. Given the make up of this team, I don't know if Bochy would want to screw with that chemistry.

And after taking a breath, I'll say this: Maybe Bonds DH, Morse off the bench and Perez in left as one possibility. The realistic possibility is Bonds in left and Morse DH.

So there's my concession and taking a step back from delusion.

I'm sure Barry Bonds would be a major distraction.
