Barry Bonds might spread Me-bola in the locker room. Don't need him.

    Winners win, etc.

Do you think they could find a spot for 1999 Pedro, or would that ruin the chemistry?

He'd definitely have to take the second spot after Bumgarner. I mean the 1999/2000 version of Pedro might have been the best pitcher ever, but he's not the best-pitcher-ever-in-the-world-series-but-maybe-not-other-rounds-of-the-playoffs-but-those-don't-really-matter-anyway.

Jeez, I bring up Bonds' name for chemistry purposes, and the number 3 differing factor at that, and it gets rewritten like I think Bonds would be unwanted on this year's team.

No doubt Bonds was a monster in 2002 throughout the playoffs, did you folks forget the shot of Tim Salmon on the dugout steps when Bonds took K-Rod deep in Gm. 6(?)? That was the most awe I've ever seen from an opposing player.

I just think this team is more cohesive than the '02 team and that is one factor that will hopefully prevent a recurrence of '02.

Do you really think that some ineffable quality of how much they like each other determines whether they go 3-4 or 4-3 in a series?

I just appreciate Bumgardner pitching to the score in the NLCS so he doesn't get worn out. Team guy.

Doesn't hurt to have Bochy in the dugout vs. Dusty Baker, either.

I think it could have a small factor. I've played with many d*cks and most of the time, I think "if he can help us win, just ignore the rest." However, if a guy grates on you for too long...

Does that really matter at this point of the season, though? Bad chemistry can definitely sink a team, but it'll usually do it in July or August, not October. If you make it this far, with the ultimate goal within reach, I think professionals can put aside their differences for a few more days to achieve it.

Who on the 2002 Giants, specifically, was negatively affected by Barry Bonds being a bit of a meanie head? Was it Jeff Kent, who hit .313 with 37 home runs? Rob Nenn, who had a 2.20 ERA, 81 strikeouts in 73 innings, and 43 saves? Tim Worrell had a 2.25 ERA in 80 games. I'm thinking that the relievers were sufficiently quarantined from Bonds's in-game chemistry sabotaging.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. :D
