But if they faced in the World Series, Bumgarner would be perfect.

Hell, if Bumgarner got to face the Giants his numbers would be lower than that!

Let us not forget the wonderful miracle that God has given us in Joe Panik.

He is a Coach's Kid Who Does Everything Right.

(Seriously though -- he does. Saved it all in the third inning too.)

Hey, I get your overall point. There will be a narrative based on this series that is at least partially bullshit. I don't completely disagree with you because you tend to dismiss some things too easily just because the proper statistical measure does not exist (never mind that it doesn't exist for things like defense, either), but I get it.

Doesn't mean I can't give you a hard time about the way you were making that exact same smaller point over and over. :)

That was a delightfully awkward presentation by Chevy.

Good lord, did that guy pound down four hot dogs on his way from the luxury box to the locker room?
I was out of sight of the TV and just heard most of the presentation, and thought someone was having an on-air heart attack.

I will never know why they didn't send Gordon.

The Chevy Colorado "um...combines technology and stuff."

Because there's a very good chance he'd be out by 45 feet.

But I wouldn't have blamed them if they did. The chance of a botched throw or blocking the plate call vs. the chance of a hit off Bumgarner...

I'm generally in favor of aggressive play - force the other team to make a play - but I do think they'd have probably gotten him at the plate.

Now for a fun hypothetical: No matter the outcome, would sending him to the plate have been the most exciting play in World Series history? I say yes.

I was rooting pretty hard for the Sal Perez game-winning homer after being practically crippled by that pitch.
