We get it, back in your day everything was so much better.

 

It's better this way. Baseball's expanded playoffs, along some of the tweaks to the CBA the last decade-plus, put a lot more teams in play for winning the World Series every year.

I don't love it that the best team rarely wins it now. But I think the tradeoff is well-worth it. The sport is built on regional interest, almost completely now, and you need a lot of teams with a chance every year, which is finally the case.

You missed the point. It's not about the past, or you. Baseball is a regional attraction and 3rd nationally among 4 major sports? That ain't progress.

 

I'm just hoping they are able to have spring training before the sport goes belly-up.

Perez also wasn't getting much out of his lower body after getting hit with the pitch, and "get a base hit at all costs" isn't really his game to begin with. I would have liked to have seen Willingham there.

 

Bumgarner didn't mow down the 1975 Reds, 1989 Athletics or 1998 Yankees.
Kansas City was ninth in the AL in runs scored and 10th in OPS.
Historically powerless for AL champions of the last few decades.

 

He has as many Championships as LaRussa, so Bochy is officially a genius.

 

He should be in the Hall of Fame just for sounding like Sam Elliott.
