I know I'm being dense, but why Ishikawa, why the new position? What makes that any worse than the 1959 AL champion White Sox trotting out a .220-hitting first baseman (Earl Torgeson)? Or the 1944 AL champ St. Louis Browns starting catcher Red Hayworth with a .222/.253/.281 line?
