The barely or rarely give real effort in non Nationally televised games between October and March

They play far tougher defense as a whole than players of 30 years ago.

Bullshit. The ASG effort may've declined (or disappeared), but the real game 82 game effort is as high or higher than it's ever been.

The only difference is that coaches today are more inclined to occasionally sit their stars out for "rest and recovery" purposes, you no longer see the all-82 game ironmen like once was normal. But's that's because of a better understanding of what the human body can take, managing injury risk, and the smartest way to prepare for the playoffs, it's not due to lack of effort. The games those guys do play are played harder than ever.

Maybe I spend too much time watching the Wizards beat good teams and then give it up the ass to bad teams.

Superman might get to bring down yet another franchise.

Whiteside is better at this point. Why would the Heat do this?

I agree but the rumors all get sillier at trade deadline time.

Whiteside is certainly more explosive, but if they think that they have a chance to make a run, Howard is still a heck of a player.

Zach Lowe and others have said that they've heard pretty horrible "off the record" stuff on Whiteside. Howard, while he doesn't have a great health record and isn't what he once was, I don't think he's viewed as a malcontent. Just as kind of moody.

LeBron apparently wants Whiteside out of the Eastern Conference.
