The most gratifying thing is the Bill Simmons' Kobe Twitter silence. LOL

    Um.....

    Kobe's much hyped retirement game.
    He scored 60 points.
    He played 42 minutes.
He scored mostly all of the points in the fourth quarter for a come from behind Laker victory.
He hit several impossible three pointers during this stretch.
Shaq was the first person he hugged after the victory.
There were literally dozens of media celebrities there for publicity purposes. He spent a hour and a half hugging each one of them after the game on live TV.
    Lamar Odom was interviewed courtside.

Not being a sports snob, I found the above to be top tier entertainment. Whatever your personal opinions about Kobe, his market value has skyrocketed after that last performance. That is all I was saying. Obviously Kobe is a sports genius, whatever that means in this context.

Are you stoned? He took 50 shots. Repeat: FIFTY SHOTS! Missed most of them. Went 6 for 21 from deep.

You know, lots of guys could score a shitload of points if they were allowed to fork up 50 shots in one game. But their team wouldn't win much. The Lakers did win this one only because it was a very unusual circumstance game.

It was a tremendous performance, and an epic way to go out. But it was not the superman performance you (and ESPN) have portrayed. And to depict it as his Jordan-surpassing moment is plain old stupid.

Think if the Jazz would have had to win the game last night to get into the playoffs.
Kobe might not have scored 6.

Can't believe he retired without telling us how Shaq's ass tastes.
