But he's such a good, conversational writer who constructs very sound arguments that are easy to understand. Nate Silver can be awkward, too, but he's not shallow. James's thoughts didn't seem like they were coming from the same brain that we all know and are used to.

Schilling is who we thoguht he was, a whore's crusty vagina. Blames his failure to get in on his politics.

I know several tremendous writers who come across like babbling buffoons on TV. Usually, those are the ones who still work at newspapers. :D

What really surprised me was how reluctant he seemed to engage anyone in any kind of argument. For example, he defended Bonds and Clemens as Hall of Famers, but when Kenney brought up that others would disagree, he didn't make any kind of defense, but instead tried to defuse it right away by saying something like, "Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm not saying mine is right ..."

Those weren't the exact words, but it was like, "Dude, you are the best baseball arguer of all time. What the hell?"

I didn't hear it, but I can imagine that's not the kind of argument he wants to engage in. I know that on these threads, I glaze over the steroid / Rose debates because there's nothing new to add so it's all kind of boring and not really about baseball. OTOH, I'll happily spend all day arguing Mussina over Schilling or Belle over Rice or Bagwell over Biggio.

141 of the 549. although all but 35 were out there before the announcement.

Eight 10-man ballots listed don't have Piazza.
24 10-man ballots don't have Schilling or Mussina.

No other crazy votes revealed. The Erstad vote, the other Boone vote (besides McCoy) and the two Tom Gordons are still nameless.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion?????? What?????

What kind of heresy is that????

Seriously, if ever there were an issue in sports that I think has no "right" or "wrong," it's whether PED users should be in the HOF. Both sides are perfectly logical, to me.

I thought the Jonah Keri Grantland piece was interesting because he has Bagwell waiting awhile to get in. I think he has Piazza getting in next year.

Of course everyone is entitled to his own opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!ELEVENTLY!1111

But if he isn't willing to explain the basis for it, and why it is superior to the opposing view, then I pay it no mind, and neither should anyone else!!!!!!!111111ELEVENTY1111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there an instance where a voter was disciplined or had their vote taken away because how they voted?

I'm aware of an MVP vote being taken away because of how someone voted.

Who did that person vote for?
