2015 College basketball coaching carousel thread

Well, obviously since there was a beach nearby, he figured it was destined to become a perennial national powerhouse. You know, like what happened to Florida Gulf Coast.

 

According to this story I found on the Google News archive, noted USF booster George M. Steinbrenner kicked in a bunch of money and basically doubled his salary:

Supposedly USF ponied up with a big contract.

 

That was about the time they opened the Sun Dome so they may have been trying to really make a splash with basketball.

 

Scott Brooks fired in OKC, Kevin Ollie and Billy Donovan both considered top candidates to replace him.

Ollie has said he's not interested.

 

How'd that work out for them?

 

That's not exactly what he has said.

 

Ollie would have to fork over $4 million, as I understand it.

 

I know it's got a separate thread, but Billy Donovan to the Thunder belongs in here.

The Florida opening is likely to cause a few dominoes to fall further down the coaching ranks.

 

I'd think that if Florida doesn't get a big name it would take a look at Larry Shyatt.
