Big 12 lost to Butler, UAB and Georgia State today. That is fucking horrific.

Airballing a 3 to win an NCAA Tournament game is one of the most Alford things that has ever happened.

And now a team that has no business being in the tournament pulls a horseshoe out of its arse and now gets a team seeded lower than it to reach the Sweet 16.

OK. Had to go to the grocery store, so did so with Baylor leading by 10 with time running down. They lose. Really needed a shower, so decided to take one with SMU up on a 17-0 run. Come down all clean to discover they lost. Am now afraid to turn off TV.

    Are you serious with this?

They played in the title game again the next year. They've been to multiple Sweet 16s. They play in the Big East. They were the 6 seed. Texas was the 11.

    Yeah.

Horrific to fall to that program.

I hear what you mean. In your best Jerry Seinfeld voice, "WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH COLLEGE BASKETBALL?"
    - Attendance is down for seven straight years. TV ratings are down.
    - The talent is spread all over the country (witness the rise of the WCC, Missouri Valley, A-10 etc), but look how top heavy the Tournament is: Beyond the top
two seeds, it's a muddled mess.
    - When was the last great Final Four/championship game? As in something that will stand the test of time? 2010 (Butler-Duke)? 2008 (Kansas-Memphis)?
    - Tons of games this year had scores in the 40's or even 30's. Is that bad shooting? Or the overpowering results of advanced scouting, or strength/conditioning?
    - The West Coast: What the eff? Between 1995 and 2008, Pac-10 teams earned No. 1 seeds seven times. Three made the Final Four. Since then, you have ONE No. 1 seed and one team advancing as far as the Elite Eight (Arizona, in both cases, last year.)
    - The NBA is a superior product (the sheer volume of stars in their prime, unselfish/team play thriving, to name a few reasons ) an unthinkable development if you remember Steve Rushin's brilliant SI Cover Story from 1999 that listed 50 reasons why college basketball was better than the NBA. That comparison is completely on its ear.

Look who just crawled out from under his rock the last couple of months. And you did it in response to something I posted. I should be flattered.

BTW, I posted in response to another's complaint about the use of that verbiage. And what we are mocking isn't so much as the poor guy who has to say it to put food on his table, but the hypocritical "business" that is requiring him to do so.

But you're not that ignorant, right?
