Blackhawks are lucky they aren't down 3-0 right now. If the Lightning hadn't gone into a shell in the third period of Game 1, trying to nurse a 1-0 lead, this series would be all but over.

Wait a minute. The Blackhawks outshot them something like 18-4 in the first period last night. They should have buried them. Hossa missed an open net. A couple others missed easy opportunities, as well.

Basically, each team stole a game. The series is right where it should be.

Blackhawks played fine last night and were unlucky to not win.

Marian Hossa scores on that chance 99 times out of 100

Crawford looked like a world-beater tonight. APB still out on Patrick Kane. These games are all coin flips.

Those last two minutes were insane.

Can't wait to open the Internet tomorrow and read about how the women's World Cup is the most exciting thing going right now.

Mike & Mike, a good barometer of what the nation is focusing on sports-wise, led with Game 4 of the NBA Finals tonight. They mentioned the Stanley Cup Finals during the opening news rundown, something about an NBC spokesman saying that players should trim their beards.

I don't know why people don't get more into it. Maybe because there were only 20 teams for so long, with a high percentage of them in Canada. It's not my favorite sport, but I'd be hard pressed to say it's not the most entertaining of the big four in America. To each his own, but why anybody would watch soccer instead is absolutely beyond me.

The hockey playoffs are consistently the most entertaining and unpredictable of any postseason in pro sports. And it usually isn't even close.

Given the relationship between ESPN and the NBA, I'd expect all their shows to lead with Cavs-Warriors. I think the NBA postgames on ESPN last longer than the actual games.

One reason I think people like football and basketball is that you can watch one game, any game, and know pretty quickly who is good and who is just a guy. Hockey and baseball you kind of have to watch night after night. If you've watched this series, you'd think Brand Saad was the Blackhawks star, for example.

Also, most kids are going to play basketball, football and baseball growing up, even if they never play in an organized league. I know it took me a long time to appreciate the game and what these guys are doing because I never played hockey.

Are the Women's World Cup and Stanley Cup Finals on at the same time?

Bingo. ESPN leads and then scatters, smothers and covers with what puts money in the corporate coffers, which at this time is the NBA. I can only surmise that the reason the NHL would get any mention from them is Barry Melrose must have some compromising photos of someone.

Sure feels like this series is going to go down to the last goal wins it.
