Not the craziest idea. Does Karmanos control the logo and name still?

It'd work, but they'd have to put the Isles back in the Bruins' division. They don't have to be the Whalers anymore, anyhow. Can't be the Islanders. How about the Actuaries? Kind of evokes the Grim Reaper, and they could have a great logo of a guy with a suit and tie on with a hockey mask and stick.

Surprised there was no talk about Hitchcock dying for the sins of the Blues' front office.

    Hitchcock is out, Yeo in

Watching the Lightning half-ass it through this stretch is making me want to poke my eyes out with the pointy end of a compass.

The easy switch would be to move Hartford to the Atlantic and Detroit to the Metro. Detroit's only been in the east a few years anyway, so it really wouldn't affect much in terms of rivalries.

Re: The Lightning -- haven't they lost a ridiculous amount of man games to injury, including Stamkos being out?

Tom Hoffarth (SoCal News Group media writer) wrote today that Kings Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Miller is out of the hospital and at home. Miller suffered a stroke last Friday/Saturday ahead of the All-Star Game. He is going to meet with Kings officials soon to determine what he will do the rest of this season. Typical Miller, open and friendly. He said he started slurring words at dinner on Friday, thought he was OK when he got up Saturday, but it returned when he was at Staples Center preparing for a Fox Sports West show. More typical Miller. He said that when he was in the ambulance before it left for the hospital, somebody started banging on the door and said, "Is Bobby Miller in there?" They opened the door and it was Bobby Orr, wondering how Miller was doing.

That would be Bobby, a real class act. I have met him a number of times over the years - my junior hockey team had some of his clients over the years - and he has never failed to introduce himself, as if a guy my age - 51 - had no idea who he was. Mind you, he has probably met half the people in Canada so he can't be expected to remember everyone he meets!

Eh...Stamkos is obviously a loss but this team has a ton of forward depth. Defense is a disaster. Coburn and Garrison are horrifically slow. Sustr is afraid to put a body on someone. Stralman has lost a step too but he's smart and crafty enough to keep it together.

Right now they need to trade Johnson and Bishop for some speed on defense and a right hand shot. Trading Palat wouldn't be the worst thing either while someone out there might still hold in him value.

How long until Hitchcock is named coach in Vegas?

Jim Fox was pushing that on the Kings pregame show and it sounds like a good fit.

Bruins can Julien. Super Bowl celebration news dump.

That front office is a joke.

Faults on both sides. Front office quite rightly wants to get younger, and Julien doesn't trust young players enough to give them all the ice time they deserve. But, Julien is a defensive-minded coach and the defensemen the front office provides are 1. A declining Chara and 2. Ham and eggers, whether old or young.
