Before everything goes crazy with analyzing who got in and who didn't, I want to thank Della in diligently updating the voting tracker again this year. After Poin Files, Ruben's posts and the old Random Photos page, it is a major reason I still follow this place.

At 42.8 percent reported (201 of 469 ballots):

Griffey is still at 100 percent
Piazza is at 86.1 percent (He's getting in)
    Bagwell is at 77.6 percent
    Raines is at 76.6 percent
Hoffman is at 63.7 percent (by comparison Lee Smith is at 28.4)
    Schilling is at 60.7 percent
    Mussina is at 52.7 percent
    Bonds is at 50.7 percent
    Clemens is at 50.2 percent
    Edgar is at 47.3
Trammell getting a nice last-ballot kiss at 44.8

Over those same ballots, Edgar has gained 33 votes, Mussina has gained 30, Bagwell has gained 26, Trammell has gained 23, Schilling has gained 16 and Raines has gained 15.

Remember, that 469 is just the max number of votes available. If there are only 450 or so returned, the percentages are higher.

Wagner has gotten 19 votes (9.5 percent) and I think is pretty safe to stay on the ballot. He needs four more votes. Sheffield (1) and Sosa (7) still need a handful of votes to stay on ballot. Every other holdover guy already has enough to stay on the ballot. Edmonds now has six votes but isn't going to make it to a second ballot without a major push. I'll mention Nomar! at this point because last year he got two dozen votes and stayed alive. So far he has one.

Quite welcome. I think the voting is extremely fascinating and glad others do as well

Wow. Griffey at 100% after that many votes?

Griffey won't be unanimous, though, because you'll have a couple of protest voters who refuse to vote for anyone from the era and return a blank ballot.

Of course. Which is one reason I'm stunned that he's at 100% through this many voters. I figured someone would have been that guy by now.

The people who do that sortof thing don't make their ballots public

Oh, some do. Some love nothing more than to make that kind of thing public. Just a matter of time, I figure.

Stat of the day: If elected, Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Piazza would be the highest and lowest MLB draft picks in the HoF
