This is true. It is tough to get in, as we can see by the fact that only two guys got in this year. But I still think the standard for ballots are too low. Even as a lifelong Mets fan, it would take a hell of a lot of convincing to get me to vote for guys like Jeff Kent or Billy Wagner for the Hall of Fame. Very good players? Yes. Best of the best? Not in my eyes.
