Driving a mile without stopping? That sounds more like an accomplishment Smallpotatoes would brag about.

This year wasn't all that great, but for me 2006 was worse: Two family members died, including my beloved grandmother, and a good friend died that year, too.

    January: Promotion, raise; Alabama wins
    April: Went to WrestleMania
July: Was taken off salary, but kept my pay rate
October: Had my spine fused, start getting use of my left leg back
    November: Cubs win
December: Successfully got out of the house for something other than doctor appointments for the first time since surgery to see Rogue One

I'd say it was a pretty positive year for me.

I got married. We moved into a new home. I got to see Cleveland win a championship and come one rain delay short of another. It was truly the best year of my life. Then in a one-week period the Indians blew a 3-1 lead in the World Series, my wife was let go at her job , Donald Trump was elected and the year transformed into something else. It will always be a hard year to sort in my mind.

January - Get snowed into New York City in the blizzard (which was kinds cool), come home and a friend commits suicide four days later (which was kind of not).
March - pick up freelancing gig.
    April - Start dating someone.
    June - bought a new(er) used car.
August - coworker who I adored has to retire because he has stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
August - get raise because I'm now top in seniority.
September - Saw Pitt beat Penn State in person.
October - An aunt who had been battling liver issues for years dies.
November - Ms. BYM2 and I saw Pitt upset Clemson in person.
December - Shared a stage with Hannibal Burress, so that was kind of cool.

All in all not a bad year, but I would like to have at least one of those deaths back.

I was thinking that calendar was the wrong year -- it didn't look right. Then figured it out. Starting the week with Monday threw me off. Most calendars have Sunday as the first day.
