The last time the wind blew out hard for a playoff game at Wrigley was the 2015 NLDS game where the teams combined for 8 home runs, six of which were estimated to have needed the wind to get out.

Tonight it is blowing harder than that night

This is not a repeat post from the NLDS: That's a spring training PFP play the Cubs just botched.

Mike Napoli is an OK guy and competent big league hitter, but the only way he should get a big hit off a competent pitcher is if the pitcher fucks up.

No there wasn't. Once that ball got past Hendricks they had no chance to get him.

And another grounder booted to start the second. Whatever you want to call it. Not sure how long they can go without it hurting them.

You're looking for reasons to justify your previous opinion. Their defense was literally all-time great this year and has been excellent in the playoffs.

Just calling them as I see them. And you watch enough of this game, and errors do come back to haunt.

Well, if you see it, I guess that is that.

I'd say this is just locker room talk, but, well ...

This might belong on the why I feel old thread, but Joe Buck's announcement that Hirschbeck (a good ump, BTW) is retiring after 34 years reminds me I'd been on the beat for two seasons before he made the majors.
