Jason Heyward called a players' meeting during the rain delay. Good for him.

 

Theo Esptein has ended a combined 194 years of World Series drought.

 

Jason Heyward called the team meeting that won the game, so @RickStain can like that contract.

 

Bryant was damn near ecstatic and smiling while in the process of making that play.

 

Watching Rizzo and Ross actually makes me like these Cubs players. Rizzo was like a kid or an actual fan out there. You can tell he understands the gravity of the moment and what this means. Putting that ball in his pocket at the end was sweet. And then Ross gets the storybook ending to an 18-year journeyman's career. I've always had a soft spot for guys like that to begin with, and seeing him go out that way it's hard not to smile.
But the fans .... God, they'd better not screw this up like Boston did. If they become insufferable while the Cubs embark on what appears to be a dynasty in the making, I hope it's another century before they win another one.
